TWO GREAT - TWO TURKS

Our homeland, which in ancient times was called Turan, then Movarounnahr after the arrival of Islam, Turkestan during the centuries of decline when three khanates ruled, and Uzbekistan during the years of Soviet colonialism, evokes immense pride and honor by giving the world hundreds of thinkers, without losing its identity over the centuries. This year's theme of the international scientific-theoretical conference, traditionally held by the Department of World Literature and Comparative Literature of our university, is entitled "Problems of Eastern Classical Poetics: Navoi and Rumi." As the name suggests, this year's conference theme, as always, covers both theoretical and comparative aspects at once. At the same time, it focuses on the issues of classical poetics during the rise of the Second Renaissance. It envisages a comparative study of the work of our great thinker Alisher Navoi and the literary environment of his era with the era of Jalaluddin Rumi, the pinnacle of Turkish literature, Sufism, and philosophical thought. In a word, the main goal of the conference is to scientifically illuminate the place and importance of the great phenomenon of Turkish poetic thought on a global scale by comparing the works of two great Turkish thinkers.
