Ways to Reduce the Radioactivity of Oil-contaminated Soils
The effectiveness of complex purification to reduce the radioactivity of oil-contaminated soils is considered. The main methods used for refining oil and petroleum products are mechanical, physical and chemical methods. However, each of them also has limited capabilities, and sometimes problems with environmental safety. While the primary task is to choose a technology for cleaning petroleum products in the soil, its improvement, secondly, given that the content of natural radionuclides in petroleum soils is higher, reducing soil radioactivity also remains a key issue. To solve these problems, it will be beneficial to use an integrated approach at the same time. Work on refining petroleum products and reducing radioactivity requires an integrated system that includes various methods that must be environmentally efficient and safe
