A VIOLAÇÃO DAS LICENÇAS DE SOFTWARE

All of modern man's tasks are managed by computer programs, regardless of the platform the user uses. The practicalities that software has introduced in recent decades have made everyone dependent on programs for their tasks. However, most users do not make use of licensed software, generating hidden problems that society is unaware of and also feeding a criminal piracy system. With this in mind, this paper aims to expose fraud in software licensing, the dangers that arise from the practice and demonstrate how the law has behaved. To this end, the methodology used was bibliographical research, in current legislation, scientific articles and websites, in which it was possible to note that several factors contribute to the spread of fraudulent licenses, among them the ignorance of users in verifying the origin of the software and also the ineffectiveness of the methods of curbing and punishing software violators.
