Research on Strategies to Improve the Development Rate and Utilization Rate of Library Materials in Colleges and Universities
This paper addresses the challenges faced by university libraries in developing and utilizing book resources. Through systematic analysis of the primary causes behind low resource development and utilization rates, and referencing practical cases from Chinese higher education institutions up to 2025, it proposes improvement strategies across three dimensions: resource construction, service innovation, and technology empowerment. The study demonstrates that comprehensive measures—including demand-driven targeted procurement, coordinated management of print and digital resources, promotion of AI-powered smart services, and multi-dimensional reading initiatives—can effectively enhance the efficiency of book resource development and utilization. These findings provide theoretical support and practical references for the modernization transformation of university libraries.
