Practical Strategies for Inheriting and Promoting Excellent National Music in Music Education

Against the backdrop of globalization and cultural diversity, excellent folk music, as an integral part of China's fine traditional culture, carries a rich legacy of historical memory, aesthetic values, and national spirit. However, the inheritance of folk music in current music education faces real challenges, including marginalization, formalization, and fragmentation. This article explores practical strategies for effectively inheriting and promoting excellent folk music in both basic and professional music education, drawing on the dual dimensions of cultural inheritance and educational practice. By analyzing the value implications of folk music education, six core strategies are proposed: systematic curriculum development, contextualized teaching implementation, teacher capacity building, resource integration and platform building, innovative transformation and development, and optimized evaluation mechanisms. Research indicates that only by shifting folk music from "knowledge transfer" to "cultural immersion" and from "passive acceptance" to "active participation" can its dynamic inheritance and sustainable development be truly achieved in the new era, providing strong support for strengthening cultural confidence and cultivating new generations.
