"Methotrexate and NB-UVB Phototherapy for Generalized Pustular Psoriasis: A Case Report of Rapid Clinical Improvement"
Introduction: Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP), also known as Von Zumbusch, is a form of psoriasis variant, characterized by widespread sterile pustular eruptions. This case report aims to establish the diagnosis and management of GPP. Case description: A 35-year-old woman presented with multiple small, itchy pustules that first appeared on her legs and rapidly spread across her body over the course of two days. The symptoms were accompanied by skin tenderness, fever, fatigue, and joint pain. On physical examination, vital signs were within normal limits. Dermatological examination revealed papulopustules lesions with scaling on erythematous skin, distributed across almost the entire body except the face. Laboratory results showed leukocytosis (10,800/uL), lymphopenia (15%), and an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) of 21 mm/hour. The patient was treated with a combination of topical corticosteroids, systemic methotrexate, and phototherapy. Conclusion: Significant clinical improvement was observed after three weeks of treatment.
