Hubungan neutrophil lymphocyte ratio dan platelet lymphocyte ratio dengan karakteristik klinikopatologi pasien kanker tiroid papiler di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Denpasar
Background: Papillary Thyroid Cancer (PTC) is the most prevalent form of thyroid malignancy, accounting for 85-91% of all thyroid cancer cases. While the majority of PTC patients have a favorable prognosis. Systemic inflammation is a key factor in the clinicopathological features and prognosis of cancers. The Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) are straightforward parameters that assess inflammation and serve as prognostic biomarkers for cancer. This study aims to explore the relationship between NLR and PLR in relation to the clinicopathological features of patients with papillary thyroid cancer at Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Central General Hospital in Denpasar. Methods: This observational analytical research employs a cross-sectional design and was conducted at Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Central General Hospital in Denpasar. The research utilized medical record data from 49 patients with a diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer during 2020 and 2023, chosen according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The statistical analysis was conducted using the Chi-square test, with a p-value of < 0,05 regarded as statistically significant. Results: NLR not demonstrate significant correlation with tumor size, lymph node status, metastasis, cancer stage, or histological subtype of PTC. In contrast, PLR significantly linked to cancer stage (p = 0,007), but it did not show a significant association with tumor size, lymph node status, metastasis, or histological subtype of PTC. Conclusion: NLR did not show a significant correlation with the clinicopathological characteristics of PTC, while PLR demonstrated a significant association with cancer stage.
