AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF SHWITRA: CASE REPORT ON ACROFACIAL VITILIGO

This case report discusses the management of a 52-year-old male patient diagnosed with Acrofacial vitiligo. The patient underwent Ayurvedic treatment that included Shodhana and the external application of Anubhuta Yoga as Lepa (Application of paste) during his admission, which yielded encouraging results. At the one-month follow-up, with internal medications, adherence to strict dietary restrictions, and lifestyle changes for stress management, the patient exhibited remarkable improvement in pigmentation of the affected areas, with a visible reduction in skin tone and patch size. This case demonstrates the efficacy of Lepa as a key therapeutic approach in Shwitra management and the importance of addressing vitiligo through a holistic lens, where every aspect of treatment, including targeted therapies, dietary discipline, and mental well-being, collectively contributes to achieving positive outcomes.
