THE IMPORTANCE OF AHARA VIDHI VIDHANA IN MAINTAINING OPTIMALHEALTH: A REVIEW
By Ayurvedic principles, food is not only a source of sustenance, but it also serves as a strong medicine when consumed appropriately. "Ahara," or food, is seen as the foundation of health, nourishing the body, mind, and soul. "Ahara Vidhi Vidhanas," a core concept in Ayurveda, highlights the significance of eating habits in pre-serving health and preventing illnesses. Acharyas like Charaka and Sushruta have elaborated on Ahara Vidhi Vidhanas (dietary rules). These rules highlight not only what we eat, but also how, when, and how much we consume, taking into account elements such as personal constitution (Prakriti), digestive capacity (Agni), sea-sonal fluctuations (Ritu), and food compatibility (Viruddha Ahara). Ahara Vidhi Vidhanas support the balance of the three Doshas—Pitta, Kapha, and Vata and optimal digestion (Agni). Many lifestyle disorders are thought to be largely caused by improper eating habits. This abstract investigates the Ayurvedic viewpoint on eating pat-terns and how they affect well-being.
