STAMBHITA DOSHA: A SILENT CATALYST IN AYURVEDIC PATHOLOGY
Ayurveda emphasises the importance of maintaining the health of individuals who are well, treating those who are ill, and restoring them to a state of balance. The human body comprises Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala. The health of an individual is defined by the normalcy of Dosha, Agni, Dhatu, Mala, and the clarity of the senses (Indriya Prasannata). Various factors can contribute to the onset of disease, with multiple stages of Doshas playing a critical role in disease causation. Understanding the causes, pathogenesis, and progression of a disease is vital for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Diseases are categorised as either acute or chronic, and one of the key fac-tors in chronic diseases is Stambhita Dosha. Stambhita Dosha refers to a condition where the normal movement of the dosha is obstructed, leading to the development of disease. A comprehensive understanding of Stambhita Dosha is essential for precise diagnosis, effective treatment, and the prevention of associated health issues.
