PHALA VARGA IN STREE ROGA (FRUITS IN WOMEN’S HEALTH IN AYURVEDA)
Fruits have been a foundational component of the human diet since ancient times. In Ayurveda, Ahara (diet) is recognised as one of the three pillars of life, alongside Nidra (sleep) and Brahmacharya (celibacy). Among food groups, Phala Varga (fruit category) under Aharavarga lists various fruits with their individual properties and therapeutic uses. Ayurvedic classical texts emphasise the importance of fruits in maintaining health and manag-ing diseases, especially in women’s health (Stree Roga). Despite their importance, the medicinal role of fruits in Ayurveda, especially in the context of gynaecological and reproductive health, has not been extensively re-viewed or disseminated. This paper aims to compile and scientifically present the therapeutic applications of Phala Varga fruits in Stree Roga (Women's health disorder) as per Ayurveda.
