ANALYSINGTHEPERFORMANCEOFTHEURALSGASTURBINEPOWERPLANT (GTPP) AND PROSPECTS FOR EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT
The article analyses the operation of a gas turbine power plant (GTPP) with an installed capacity of 54 MW, including three gas turbine units operating on natural gas. The key parameters of powerunits, heatrecoverysystem, gassupplyandpowerdeliveryschemeareconsidered.Themain emphasis is made on the analysis of heat losses and possibilities of their reduction through the introductionof organic Rankine cycle (ORC) withpentane turbines. Applicationof ORCallowsto use low potential heat of exhaust gases for additional power generation, which leads to increase of power plant efficiency from 35-38% to 45-50%, reduction of fuel consumption and CO, emissions. Economicandenvironmentaladvantagesofthetechnologyarepresented, aswellastheprospectsof itsapplicationinKazakhstan.Introductionofpentaneturbinesisconsideredasaneffectivesolution for modernisation of GTPPs, energy efficiency improvement and development of sustainable energyin the region.
