Challenges in the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence for Effective Delivery of Business Education Course Content at the University of Cross River State

This study investigated the Challenges in the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence for Effective Delivery of Business Education Course Content at the University of Cross River State. The study was guided by a specific objective, research question, and a null hypothesis. A survey research design was adopted, and the entire population of 15 Business Education lecturers at the University of Cross River State was studied. Data were collected using a structured instrument titled Challenges in the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence for Effective Delivery of Business Education Course Content Questionnaire (CAAIIEDBUCCQ). Analysis was conducted using mean and standard deviation to answer the research question, while the null hypothesis was tested using the t-test statistic at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that the adoption of Artificial Intelligence for delivering Business Education course content at the University of Cross River State is hindered by infrastructural deficits, financial constraints, limited lecturer training, institutional barriers, and resistance to technological change, with these challenges affecting both male and female lecturers equally. It was concluded that without addressing these challenges, the effective integration of AI into Business Education teaching and learning processes will remain slow and underutilized, thereby limiting the potential benefits of AI for enhancing course delivery and student learning outcomes. The study recommended that the university should invest in modern technological infrastructure, provide continuous professional development programs for lecturers on AI integration, implement policies that address resistance to change, and secure adequate funding to support AI adoption in Business Education.
