ENHANCING ENERGY PRODUCTION: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE POTENTIAL OF DIFFUSER-AUGMENTEDWIND TURBINES
One of the alternative energy technologies that is developing the fastest in the world is wind energy. However, the usage of wind turbines in locations with low wind speeds, like urban areas, is restricted because they are less efficient.Consequently, a method to increase the likelihood of using wind energy at low speeds is required.By raising the wind speed upstream of the turbine, the Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbine (DAWT) concept has been utilized to augment wind and increase wind turbine efficiency. This paper is a detailed study of diffuser-augmented wind turbines (DAWTs), particularly discussing their design, constituents, modus operandi, and aerodynamics as well as performance.DAWTs are more effective in capturing energy and causing less pollution than traditional turbines.Furthermore, they overcome challenges related to diffusion optimization and investment viability. They can also be practically used across a wide spectrum of applications as field testing and real-world data show thus making them a viable option for renewable energy systems. These DAWTs are necessary tools that will propel the world towards low low-carbon economy; enhance electricity security supply and contribute in achieving Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.By addressing technological challenges, exploiting business opportunities, and promoting partnerships between academia, industry, and government DAWTs may play an important role in attaining a sustainable resilient clean energy future
