Evaluation of community-based psychological wellness intervention on satisfaction among users

Mental well-being is extremely critical for social enterprise workers. However, there are limited studies on the effectiveness of community-based psychological wellness interventions in enhancing the satisfaction and coping mechanisms of these clients. Various interventions have been carried out in efforts to improve mental health. The study aims to evaluate the effect of a psychological wellness intervention on user satisfaction and overall mental well-being among employees of social enterprises. A total of 200 consenting workers in different social enterprises participated in the study that employed a non-blinded, cluster randomized controlled trial. The intervention emphasized the development of autonomy and improving ancillary outcomes, such as resiliency, palliative conduct, and control of four mental health coping mechanisms. Sociograms were taken immediately after the intervention and at one month and four months after the intervention to study the participants on perceived social support, curative conduct, life quality, and anxiety levels. The immediate assessments, staff assessed the intervention as a positive reception. At a one-month post-intervention follow-up, enhancements in perceived psychological coping and cure-related social supports were reported for the participants significantly. At a four-month evaluation, improvements across all dimensions in life quality began to emerge though excessive anxiety developed. Research indicates that community-based psychological well-being interventions have short-term effects on the enhancement of coping mechanisms and quality of life for social enterprise workers. Future interventions should involve higher monitoring by the management and mental health practitioners to maintain beneficial outcomes and minimize the possible adverse consequences. The findings underline the absolute necessity for continuing evaluation.
