Research on the effect of coffee on industry employees' mental health

Caffeine, a stimulant in many caffeinated drinks, including coffee, can impact the neurological system. Increased anxiety, disturbed sleep patterns, restlessness, and irritability are just a few of the negative impacts of excessive coffee use or dependence. To guarantee the general Mental Health (MH) of industry personnel, it is crucial to comprehend that coffee intake affects people differently and to encourage appropriate Coffee Consumption (CC) habits. The goal of studying the method the consumption of coffee affects employees' MH in varying work situations is to understand better the way it affects industrial employees' MH. Confounding variables were taken into account while studies assessed the connection between the consumption of Coffee and MH. This study is a cross-sectional examination of the entire working population. This study was examined in 2018 with 5,250 males’ workplace, ages 37 to 62. The 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) was used to assess MH, and the analysis employed multivariate logistic regression. Positive GHQ-12 score was substantially correlated with younger age, less frequent exercise, and average daily sleep duration of less than 5 hours. Positive GHQ-12 score, on the other hand, did not significantly correlate with coffee use. The GHQ questionnaire found no significant correlation between coffee intake, smoking status, and MH. In contrast, MH was linked to age, regular exercise, and sleep schedules. The CC was not substantially associated with MH, and a prospective investigation can corroborate the unofficial relationship. The impact of coffee on the MH of industrial employees is a complicated and varied issue. While occasional advantages like improved alertness and focus can result from moderate CC, frequent or excessive use can be harmful to one's MH.
