The effectiveness of the indigenous model of happy family based on positive psychology on parental intimacy

The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the native model of a happy family based on positive psychology on parental intimacy. The research method was a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included all couples referring to clinics and psychologists in Zanjan in 1403. 40 people were selected using convenience sampling and randomly divided into an experimental group (20 people) and a control group (20 people). The data collection tools in this section include the Couple Intimacy Questionnaire (Vondenbroek and Hans Bretman (1995)) and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (Argyll et al., 1989). Descriptive and inferential statistics (analysis of covariance) were used to analyze the data. The results of the analysis of covariance confirmed the effect of teaching the native happy family model on couple intimacy. Therefore, the results of this study confirm that the native happy family model based on positive psychology has a significant effect on parental intimacy. These findings can be used as a basis for designing and implementing educational and intervention programs to promote couple relationships and improve the quality of family life.
