Structure-performance relationships for catalysis-driven molecular machinery
Catalysis-driven molecular machinery underpins every biological process. In recent years, chemists have been building artificial structures that operate through similar principles and have started to interface their effects with other molecules and the outside world. The ubiquity of catalysis-mediated energy transduction in biology suggests that artificial catalysis-driven reaction networks could impact numerous aspects of functional molecule and active material design. Such a leap forward promises not only transformative technological advancements but also a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles that link physics, chemistry, and biology.<br/>
