Complete Atrioventricular Block: An Exceedingly Rare Manifestation of Pituitary Crisis in Sheehan Syndrome
This study reports the first case of Sheehan syndrome presenting with complete atrioventricular (AV) block. This life-threatening arrhythmia, associated with glucocorticoid deficiency, can be reversed by glucocorticoid replacement therapy. A 53-year-old female patient presented with complete AV block, elevated myocardial enzyme levels, and hyponatremia. Initially misdiagnosed as having fulminant myocarditis, she received high-dose methylprednisolone therapy, which corrected the complete AV block.
