Multi-scenario coordinated operation strategy of battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage system for pure photovoltaic VSC-HVDC converter station
Voltage source converter based high voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) transmission serves as a crucial means for power delivery from renewable energy stations, and its operating characteristics require the converter station to maintain a continuous power supply state. Aiming at the contradiction between intermittent pure photovoltaic power generation and continuous power supply demand of VSC-HVDC station, a solution for configuring electric-hydrogen hybrid energy storage at the transmission end converter station and an operation strategy of hybrid energy storage system based on fuzzy logic and membership function optimization are proposed. A coordinated operation mechanism is established where battery storage satisfies energy demands during normal light days, while hydrogen energy storage provides long-term energy security during weak light days. The proposed scheme and operation strategy can effectively alleviate the contradiction between the intermittency of photovoltaic generation and the power supply demands of VSC-HVDC converter stations during peak load periods at the receiving end, reduce dependence on the receiving end power grid for reverse transmission, and improve the consumption of new energy. The research results can provide a feasible solution for ensuring the reliable operation of the new energy VSC-HVDC delivery system.
