Common peroneal nerve schwannomas around the knee: a surgical case series of 44 patients and systematic review of the literature
This retrospective study of 44 patients shows that peroneal nerve schwannomas around the knee can be safely removed with a low risk of deficits. The systematic review of the literature suggests that larger schwannomas are more likely to result in permanent deficit. In the authors' opinion, CPN schwannomas can best be resected, preferably when the lesion is relatively small.
