Overview of the line-of-sight pointing architecture and thermal vacuum testing results for the coronagraph instrument on RST
We present an instrument line-of-sight (LOS) control architecture and testing results used for the verification of the pointing requirement of the coronagraph instrument onboard the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. We mainly focus on providing a higher-level overview of the different components of the control architecture and the testing effort. The goal of the LOS control is to stabilize the line of sight for a high contrast coronagraph instrument used for imaging of exoplanets. We describe the modeling effort and disturbance environment, as well as the operational, design, and hardware choices made to meet the tight pointing requirements. Finally, we focus on the testing results during the thermal and vacuum testing and the corresponding verification approach.
