HEALTHCARE MANAGERS IN THEIR SELF-ASSESSMENT OF HEALTH, PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

Significance. Recently, a lot of attention has been paid to the professional and social portrait of a healthcare manager. Under current organizational and structural transformations in healthcare, the need for improving the quality of management personnel is becoming more obvious. Along with the professional competencies of managers in management, marketing, financial and legal literacy, healthcare managers need to have a set of knowledge on socio-psychological resilience. The study conducted a questionnaire-based survey of healthcare managers on self-assessment of health and health recovery, professional and personal qualities. Major priorities in the three domains under study were identified. The obtained results were compared across subgroups by gender, as well as length of experience as a healthcare manager, and the most significant correlations were identified. Purpose. To analyze self-rated health and identify major priorities of healthcare managers in the social, professional, and personal spheres. Material and methods. Using the IBM SPSS Statistics-22, a database based on the survey results was developed. A comparative analysis of independent groups of indicators was performed using the Mann-Whitney test; for related groups of indicators the Wilcoxon test was used; and the relationship between indicators was identified using the Spearman rank correlation. Results. The presented study revealed: main priorities in self-rated health among healthcare managers, criteria for health recovery, professional and personal qualities on the basis of the developed questionnaire, conducted survey, and developed and analyzed database based on the results of the questionnaire; trends in health indicators, professional and personal qualities throughout the sample, by gender and depending on the length of experience as a healthcare manager; statistically significant differences across groups under comparison and natural correlations of traits. Conclusion. The study results can provide healthcare administrators and educators in continuous professional development with a more differentiated approach to their trainees, tailored to their individual principles and objectives to improve healthcare performance. Keywords: healthcare managers; questionnaires; self-assessment of health; priorities in health recovery; professional and personal qualities; gender and length of experience groups
