Higher education is the center of knowledge creation and training of high-quality human resources - a key factor determining the competitiveness and innovation capacity of the economy. Private universities in Vietnam play a strategic role in expanding the scale of training, diversifying resources and meeting modern human resource needs. However, rapid growth in quantity has not been accompanied by quality, leading to limitations in the teaching staff, facilities, training standards and research capacity. The study applies the theory of human capital and institutions, pointing out the main problems: few highly qualified lecturers, unsynchronized technology infrastructure, limited research and unmodern management. On that basis, the article proposes synchronous solutions: raising quality accreditation standards, developing the teaching staff and scientists, strengthening the connection between Schools - Enterprises - Society, comprehensive digital transformation and improving the monitoring and accountability mechanism. Synchronously implementing these solutions helps private universities become a strategic driving force for developing elite human resources and promoting international integration.
