The Criterion of Stability of Electric Arc Ore Metallurgy of Ferroalloys

A generalized analysis of theoretical and experimental studies of ferroalloy production technology in arc ore-thermal electric furnaces has been carried out. It is noted that the processes of electrothermy are characterized by an extraordinary variety of physico-chemical interactions of components, solid, liquid and gas phases at ultrahigh temperatures, and the complicated task of optimizing unstable electrical parameters. This is due to the variety of theoretical approaches to solving the problem of controlling the process of electrothermia. Attempts to influence the parameters of technology from the standpoint of modern theory have been unsuccessful, in particular by the method of thermodynamic-diagram analysis. In practice, regulating the course of electrothermia requires, in addition to general knowledge, a significant amount of art and intuition. The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine the most important driving forces of the ferroalloy electrothermy process and create a single harmonious complex that reveals the features of physico-chemical transformations under the action of electric forces. In this work, a simple analysis shows and proves the most probable mechanism determining the stability and stability of the parameters of ferroalloy electrothermy technology. Based on the research results, a scientifically based criterion is proposed that allows predicting the current and developing new technologies.
