MODERN UNDERSTANDING OF THE EFFECT OF COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY ON MARKERS OF SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION
Currently, the scientific community is increasingly interested in the relationships of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and neurobiology, since this approach allows us to study changes that occur in the central nervous system as a result of psychotherapeutic interventions, which is important for creating more effective, long-term and comprehensive treatment methods. The influence of various CBT directions on inflammatory processes in the body expressed in markers of systemic inflammation is actively being investigated. Inflammatory processes are considered as one of the important pathogenetic mechanisms in the development of mental disorders. Aim: to generalize the results of studying neurobiological effects of CBT reflected in markers of systemic inflammation. An overview of modern foreign studies on psychotherapeutic interventions and inflammatory factors is presented, possible techniques of psychosocial interventions that affect the functioning of the immune system and reduce the intensity of inflammatory processes in the body, are highlighted. It was established that the most frequently studied are samples of patients with depression and anxiety disorders. At the same time, the most reproducible parameters are decrease in IL6, CRP and TNFα. It should be noted that there is a lack of research on reducing systemic inflammation and, consequently, on the changes in the corresponding markers after CBT in patients with schizophrenic spectrum disorders.
