The genome sequence of the rudd, Scardinius erythrophthalmus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Cypriniformes: Leuciscidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual <ns3:italic>Scardinius erythrophthalmus</ns3:italic> (Rudd; Chordata; Actinopteri; Cypriniformes; Leuciscidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 229.65 megabases and 1 189.97 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (95.02%) is scaffolded into 25 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.61 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
