Modern international law and the relevance of its research
The pace of scientific discoveries and developments in international current affairs creates a pacing problem to which modern international law must deal with continuous adaptation. The growing and double-meaning influence of public international law on the national legal order and vice versa, leads to the idea of a global vision both in education and in legal research, with an emphasis on the relevance of comparison and transnationality. Without global standards of comparison, the current legal discourse cannot evolve in an autarchic manner, especially since the national legal order is also increasingly dependent on international norms and mechanisms. This paper is built on the way in which legal research must harmonise its methodology with this reality in a real and balanced way. Methodologically, attention is directed towards flexibility and adequacy to what society and legal education represent today.
