P115 Polysomnographic changes during cyclone landfall
Abstract Introduction This single-subject prospective study investigates sleep architecture changes during an actual cyclone event using Type II PSG. Methods A 42-year-old male underwent baseline PSG 24 hours before the expected landfall, with a second study performed during delayed landfall. The same Nox SAS system was used. Results Discussion Environmental stressors such as cyclonic conditions appear to significantly alter sleep architecture, increase arousals, and decrease sleep quality, even when the impact is indirect. This case highlights the need to further explore how acute environmental stress may impact sleep physiology and perceived restfulness.
