Reflecting on Our Roots While Reaching for New Horizons
Reflecting on Our Roots While Reaching for New HorizonsIt gives us immense pride to reflect upon the remarkable journey of the Gujarat Cancer Society Research Journal (GCSRJ).What began in 1991 as a GCRI bulletin-an initiative by the GCRI Teachers' Forum and brought to life by Dr. Dilip D. Giri and Dr. Siddharth Adhvaryuhas now evolved into a peer-reviewed, indexed, and accessible scientific journal of repute. This Journal has long stood as a testament to the academic rigor, research dedication, and clinical excellence of The Gujarat Cancer Society (GCS) and The Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI).Over the years, we have transitioned through several names and formats-from GCRI Bulletin to GCS Research Bulletin, and since 2012, Gujarat Cancer Society Research Journal. Each phase marked a commitment to higher standards in scientific communication. We now publish biannually and maintain a double-blind peer review process. In our pursuit of quality and transparency, we have implemented robust plagiarism detection protocols, integrated ORCID identifiers to credit researchers accurately, and made all issues since 2012 openly accessible on the GCRI website.Looking ahead, our aspirations are ambitious: obtaining an e-ISSN, HTML publication formats, indexing in global databases such as DOAJ, PubMed Central (PMC), and MEDLINE, and expanding to incorporate contributions from leading experts in the field of cancer research worldwide. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers who have supported us.As we move forward, we invite your active participation in contributing to a journal that stands as a beacon for scientific excellence and a healthier tomorrow."Together, let's keep the torch of knowledge burning"
