KOMPARASI AKSIAL TIANG PANCANG DENGAN METODE EMPIRIS DAN INTEPRETASI LOADING TEST PROYEK DI DUA LOKASI

In geotechnical engineering practice, the axial bearing capacity of piles can be estimated through empirical approaches or interpreted from results of static axial load testing. This study aims to compare the axial bearing capacity calculated using empirical methods (Meyerhof, Vesic, and O’Neill & Reese for Qp; Tomlinson for Qs) with the interpreted results from static load tests using the Chin and Mazurkiewicz methods. The analysis was conducted at two project sites - Palembang and Malinau - both characterized by cohesive soil profiles. The results indicate that in Palembang, the deviation between empirical methods and interpreted values ranges from 58% to 65%, reflecting a significant difference. Conversely, in Malinau, the deviation is smaller, ranging from 6% to 32%, suggesting that the empirical predictions are relatively closer to the field test results. Among the three empirical methods evaluated, Vesic’s + Tomlinson demonstrated the lowest deviation from the interpreted values at both locations, making it the most accurate empirical approach in this study.

Abstract

Driven pile foundations are critical structural elements that transfer loads from superstructures to deeper soil layers with sufficient bearing capacity. In geotechnical engineering practice, the axial bearing capacity of piles can be estimated through empirical approaches or interpreted from results of static axial load testing.
