Recognising the developments of the sensory turn in social sciences,we argue that acknowledging the centrality of the body in migrationprocesses can bring new theoretical and methodological perspectives, thereby enhancing our understanding of migration. With thisspecial issue, we hope to foster debate on re-centring the bodyand senses in the context of migration. While only stuttering inthe interdisciplinary field of migration studies, this debate isalready taking place in various disciplinary areas. This collectionof articles aims to provide a platform for scholars to acknowledgethe multisensory turn in their works. We firmly believe that thisspecial issue offers a timely and valuable contribution to the fieldof migration studies, addressing the growing demand for freshinsights regarding the multisensoriality-migration nexus.
