Hydrometallurgical Process of Copper Extraction from Copper-containing Ore
In order to achieve high results in the processing of copper raw materials, it is important to conduct a full-fledged study of it, study the process of biological leaching and the effect of the liquid composition. When iron is in a divalent state in the form of minerals such as pyrite and pyrrotin, the leaching process becomes more complicated, and the consumption of sulfuric acid increases. In this case, it is necessary to pre-treat the raw materials with oxidizing reagents and transfer the iron to a trivalent state. In world practice, the method of using bacterial cultures as oxidants is widely used. The main advantage of bacterial oxidation is the effective conversion of bivalent iron into trivalent iron and the low cost of this technology. A. The growth and development of Ferrooxidans bacteria is observed with certain changes, for example, the concentration of Fe2+ ions decreases and көбейеді Fe3+ ions increases. In the process of decomposition of iron-containing minerals, some a adapted to copper sulfides. Ferrooxidans strains allow the biological alkalinization of sulfides and promote their decomposition.
