Investigation of Thermal Properties of Charge Materials for Smelting Chromium-manganesesilicon- containing Ferroalloy

The purpose of this work is to study the phase transformations occurring in charge materials for the production of chromium-manganese-silicon-containing ferroalloys. Chromium dust formed during the production of high-carbon ferrochrome is the main source of chromium. The main source of manganese is silica manganese dust. Coal sludge is a waste product of coal processing, which is currently not fully used. To determine the conditions for obtaining a chromium-manganese-silicon-containing ferroalloy, it is necessary to study phase transformations during heating. Studies of phase changes in charge materials were carried out using a synchronous thermal analyzer STA 300 in a dynamic mode in the temperature range from 30 to 1250°C for manganese dust, up to 1400°C for coal sludge, and from 30 to 1550°C for chromium dust.
