Investigation of refraction and reflection of light beams in a triangular prism
The article describes a simple and affordable experimental setup that provides qualitative and quantitative educational studies of the refraction and reflection of light beams in a triangular glass prism. A methodology for conducting experiments in geometric optics is presented, confirming the conclusions of the physical theory and contributing to the development of cognitive skills of students in the system of additional education. It is shown that an attempt to determine the intensities of reflected and refracted beams leads to the need to take into account the polarization of light, that is, the transition from geometric optics to wave optics.
