Simple pendulum: history, theory, reality and virtuality

The paper considers damped oscillations of a simple-shaped physical pendulum. The publication is based on historical facts, quantitative theory and its verification by experiment. A computer application simulating the experiment is also described. The article presents several possible methods of conducting an experiment, which do not require special laboratory equipment to repeat, and their comparison is carried out.
