Asociación entre nivel socioeconómico y adherencia farmacológica en adultos mayores con hipertensión arterial, Centro de Salud Pimentel - Chiclayo, Perú, 2024
Objective: To identify if there is an association between socioeconomic level and pharmacological adherence in the treatment of hypertension in elderly patients at the Pimentel Health Center in 2024. Material and Methods: This is an observational, analytical, and cross sectional study conducted on elderly patients at the Pimentel Health Center from January to March 2024. A face-to-face questionnaire was used that included the Graffar Questionnaire, Méndez Castellano version to assess socioeconomic level, and the Martín-Bayarre-Grau test (MBG) to measure therapeutic adherence. Results: A significant variation in adherence was observed between men and women (p=0,04), with 23,5 % of men showing good adherence compared to only 7,6 % of women. The majority of participants belonged to Stratum III (64,7 %). Additionally, the results indicated that partial adherence was the most common (48,7 %), followed by good adherence (31,1 %). In Strata II and III, the distribution of good adherence was balanced, being 15,1 % and 15,9 % respectively. In Stratum IV, there were no cases of good adherence. Conclusion: It was determined that there is an association between socioeconomic level and pharmacological adherence in the treatment of hypertension in elderly patients at the Pimentel Health Center, Chiclayo, Peru, in 2024.
