Fatigue properties of Ti-6Al-4V processed by laser metal deposition
Additive manufacturing is a manufacturing technology that can rapidly form complex structural parts, which can meet the needs of weight reduction and cost reduction in the aerospace field. In the aerospace field, additive manufacturing has gained great attention and is now widely used. Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) additive manufacturing technology is suitable for manufacturing large-size structural components, which is more suitable for manufacturing the main load-bearing parts in aerospace structures. This paper focuses on the fatigue test of three specimen-grade Ti-6Al-4V, to obtain the fatigue performance of LMD Ti-6Al-4V additive manufacturing. The fatigue performance of the LMD Ti-6Al-4V specimens fabricated along the laser scanning direction is superior to that of the conventionally fabricated specimens, as indicated by the results.
