Different Carriers for Ultrasound-Enhanced Drug Delivery of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Cancer is a disease with a high mortality and is difficult to cure. Liver cancer, especially hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is currently one of the most common types among cancers, which causes hundreds of thousands of peoples deaths. Compared with traditional therapies, a drug delivery method based on ultrasound meditation provided new options and opportunities for the treatment of HCC. Among them, the selection and design of carriers for drugs are the core of this method. The types of carriers can be generally classified into three categories: bubbles, liposomes and particles. Each of them has its unique properties and application, demonstrating outstanding potential in the treatment of HCC.
