This article examines the relevance of integrating video materials into the teaching process of biochemistry for medical students. As a fundamental discipline, biochemistry requires in-depth theoretical comprehension, and the complexity of biochemical concepts demands high-quality visualization. Traditional teaching methods often lack sufficient interactivity and accessibility, making video integration an important educational innovation. To explore students' insights in using video content during their studies, particularly English-language materials, and to assess the impact of these resources on academic performance, learning motivation, and the ability to comprehend complex biochemical processes. The purpose aimed by qualitative questionnaire, where the students' experience in the use of English-language video materials in the educational process and their impact on academic performance were analyzed. At the same time, the level of language training of students is analyzed also. To achieve this, the survey was conducted among 186 first- and second-year medical students, alongside an analysis of performance dynamics before and after the introduction of video-based learning tools. The results showed that 65.3 % of respondents used English-language videos when preparing for classes, and 22.6 % reported a significant improvement in content understanding due to these materials. However, more than one-third required subtitles or translation, indicating language barriers. Students demonstrated high levels of motivation for independent study, with a preference for watching videos at their convenience and multiple times, which positively influenced the depth of material comprehension. Clinical case-based videos were particularly valued for demonstrating the practical application of biochemical knowledge. An increase in average performance scores was recorded among student groups systematically encouraged to use videos during preparation, rising from 3.2 to 3.8. Furthermore, 75 % of respondents supported the use of clinical case studies in video format as an effective tool for reinforcing theoretical content. Students also emphasized that video materials aid memory retention and preparation for assessments. The survey revealed a demand for localized content, including Ukrainian-language videos, diagrams, structured summaries, and concept maps aligned with medical university curricula. Additionally, the importance of integrating such content into digital learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Teams) was noted, as it would enhance accessibility and structure in the learning process. The findings also highlighted raising students’ explicit motivation to improve their English language skills, particularly in light of the English component of the national licensing exam “KROK 1.” The authors suggesting that introducing short English-language communicative exercises during lessons could further enhance language competency alongside video use. The work emphasizes the importance of holistic approach in the application of visualization and the need for further integration of video into the university's digital educational platforms, the creation of Ukrainian-language resources. Video materials are recognized as an effective educational tool that contributes to a deeper assimilation of biochemical material, the development of clinical thinking and the formation of English-speaking competence of future doctors.
