PENERAPAN SISTEM AGROFORESTRI KOPI PADA PETANI DI KABUPATEN BENER MERIAH, ACEH, INDONESIA

Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh, is one of the main coffee production centers in Indonesia which has great potential in developing sustainable agriculture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the coffee agroforestry system by farmers in Bener Meriah, identify the benefits and challenges faced, and provide strategic recommendations to support the implementation of this system more widely. The method used is descriptive qualitative research through semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that the coffee agroforestry system has been implemented by farmers for more than five years by involving various companion plants such as bananas and oranges, as well as the use of shade trees. This system has been proven to provide economic benefits through crop diversification, as well as ecological benefits. It is necessary to increase farmer capacity, provide production facilities, and policy interventions to strengthen the adoption of coffee agroforestry as a sustainable agricultural model in this region.
