Fenomenología de la preservación del ambiente desde el Sur de Magdalena
For decades, the southern part of the Magdalena department has faced unfavorable environmental practices that affect local sustainability. The objective of this study is to interpret the theoretical and behavioral threads that shape the cultural practice of environmental preservation in this area of the Colombian Caribbean. The approach is qualitative, using an interpretive paradigm and phenomenological methodology. The research was conducted in three rural educational institutions with nine key informants (teachers, students, and representatives) through structured interviews. The findings reveal tensions between knowledge and action, as well as the presence of educational currents—systemic, naturalist, and conservationist—that influence ecological awareness. It is concluded that environmental education must assume an ethical and political commitment, promoting a critical and transformative culture that articulates ancestral knowledge, everyday practices, and local policies. This research provides theoretical and methodological foundations for designing educational strategies that strengthen the human-nature relationship and contribute to territorial sustainability.
