NEP 2020 states that attaining one's full potential, creating a just and equitable society, and advancing national development all depend on education. The National Education Policy 2020 envisions a nationalized education system that, by providing high-quality teaching to all, immediately and sustainably transforms our country into a genuine, vibrant, informed, and living one. In this study the view of academicians, Educationists from Lucknow University and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar university and some government school teachers from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India were included. The study found the results that on an average of 84 per cent in favuor of opinion of the researchers and also around 16 per cent against of opinion of the researchers.

Abstract

The 34-year-old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986, has been replaced with NEP 2020, the first education policy of the twenty-first century. Some of the issues in NEP-2020 are worth considering for the future; such as lack of quality in teacher education institutes, idea of making colleges autonomous, lack of teaching skills in higher education, ending the affiliated college system, exit system at the graduate level (eg. certificate in first year, diploma in second year……), no idea was presented on increasing GDP and revenue in higher education.
