Making Mechanics Tangible
Mechanics, a compulsory module in engineering curricula, is often seen as challenging due to complex equations and traditional examples. This paper proposes a blend of art, engineering and gamification to make the subject more tangible. Two approaches are highlighted: 3D printed hands-on demonstrators for teaching and gamification through escape room formats for outreach. These tools and outcomes are shared via open source platforms and social media for wide accessibility. Positive evaluation data confirm the effectiveness of the measures. Additionally, womxn empowerment through networking and creative theatre play are presented.
