"ONCOfertility Registry": platform for monitoring monitoring the reproductive health status of oncological and oncohematological patients

Background: worldwide, the average age of childbearing is increasing and survival rates for oncological diseases are improving, resulting in a growing need to expand fertility preservation options for individuals newly diagnosed with cancer. The increasing availability of novel fertility preservation services has highlighted the importance of monitoring these services across various institutions. To better understand the current situation in each country, international experts strongly recommend the establishment of national registries to document both short-term and long-term outcomes of fertility preservation activities. Aim: to develop a standardized registry format for data collection on oncology patients who have undergone fertility preservation procedures prior to anti-cancer therapy, with the goal of tracking the treatment efficacy for the underlying disease and the outcomes of assisted reproductive technology programs. Materials and Methods: in 2023, a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, gynecologists, reproductive health specialists, and IT experts from Telepat company developed an electronic platform — ONCOfertility Registry. Results: for each patient in the registry, an electronic medical record is completed, containing information on the underlying disease, gynecological and reproductive status. Data entry is carried out by all members of the multidisciplinary team. As part of the ONCOfertility Registry, a "Women's Health" digital center was created, serving as an electronic platform for remote monitoring and rehabilitation of patients with chronic gynecological diseases. In the "Disease Library" section, patients have access to comprehensive information about various gynecological conditions. The "Self-Monitoring Diary" enables patients to regularly record data on blood pressure, blood count parameters, edema, urination characteristics, and other aspects of well-being. Conclusion: the registry we have developed enables systematization of all information obtained from various specialists throughout the treatment and follow-up of oncology patients, facilitating monitoring of patient condition at all stages of the therapeutic process. Systematic documentation and thorough analysis of applied fertility preservation methods and their outcomes will ultimately allow for the development of new management approaches for oncology and oncohematology patients of reproductive age, and provide a rationale for practical recommendations in the field of oncofertility.
