The aim of the research is to study modern approaches to the essence of public procurement. The methodology of the research – methods of grouping, generalization, and analysis were used in the research work. The practical significance of the research – stems from the scientific impacts and investigation of the structure and functions of the methods of implementing public procurement. The results of the research – the main directions of modern theoretical approaches to the essence of public procurement have been identified. The originality and scientific novelty of the research – directions for the efficient application of public procurement have been proposed.
