IoT-Based Health Monitoring System for Real-Time Patient Monitoring
The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing healthcare, especially in how patients are monitored remotely. This paper focuses on a health monitoring system using IoT to track key health indicators such as heart rate, body temperature, ECG, and environmental factors like humidity and room temperature. The system incorporates an ESP32 (a microcontroller) linked to various sensors—DHT11, DS18B20, AD8232, and a Pulse Sensor—to gather live health data. A Flask web server is used for visualizing and storing this data, making it easy to access health records. Furthermore, a GSM SIM800L module is included to send emergency texts and calls automatically if dangerous conditions are detected. This setup improves remote healthcare by allowing for constant monitoring, cutting down on the need for hospital visits, and ensuring quick medical response. Tests show that the system provides accurate sensor readings and handles data efficiently. Looking ahead, AI could be integrated to enhance early diagnosis and patient care.
