Cross-platform driver porting method and application based on HarmonyOS HDF
With the increasing fragmentation of IoT device hardware ecosystem, cross-platform driver compatibility has become a core challenge for the landing of HarmonyOS distributed capabilities. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a standardised and componentised cross-platform driver porting method based on the HarmonyOS Hardware Driver Framework (HDF). The decoupling of driver logic and hardware resources is achieved by constructing a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) and an operating system adaptation layer (OSAL), combined with the dynamic parsing mechanism of hardware configuration source files (HCS). Through the unified driver interface model and dynamic loading process, this method adapts to different kernels (LiteOS, Linux) and hardware architectures (ARM, RISC-V), and effectively supports cross-platform driver porting. In terms of specific applications, this paper takes the UART serial port as an example to verify the effectiveness of the porting method. The study shows that the HDF-based driver porting method can improve system compatibility and porting efficiency, and promote the application of HarmonyOS on diverse hardware platforms.
