Pulse Pattern Variability Analysis in Hypertension and Chronic Liver Diseases
Impedance plethysmograms at the wrist segment recorded from four different group of subjects have been used to analyse the pulse morphology patterns. Healthy volunteers recorded pattern P1 as most prominent with other patterns appearing in between. The same dominance shifts to pattern P3 when the higher age group of normal subjects is considered. Hypertensive subjects and chronic liver disorder patients also shown dominance of P3 as aging specific, however with modified pulse pattern profile. Liver patients exhibiting a very narrow pulse pattern profile indicating diminution in morphology variability thus supporting Jindal's hypothesis.
