Research Methods and Progress of Photovoltaic MPPT by Data-Driven
Photovoltaic maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technology serves as the core component for enhancing the efficiency of photovoltaic systems. This paper systematically reviews research advancements in the MPPT field. First, we analyze the fundamental principles, improvement strategies, and limitations of traditional single-peak MPPT algorithms, including the constant voltage method, incremental conductance method, and perturbation & observation method. Subsequently, we focus on innovative solutions addressing multi-peak characteristics under partial shading conditions, encompassing enhanced metaheuristic algorithms, hybrid control strategies, and intelligent control methods. Finally, we summarize key challenges in current research and propose future development directions. By examining representative literature in recent years, this paper provides a comprehensive reference for further research in photovoltaic MPPT technology.
